Burlingame is currently revising its General Plan, the city’s planning roadmap for the next 25 years, and we’re hoping sustainability issues will be emphasized in it. This week, the Community Advisory Committee considered the Community Safety Element of the plan, which includes planning for sea level rise in Section 5, beginning on page 11.
What should our city be doing to assess vulnerability to sea level rise near the Bayfront? What are appropriate setbacks? Can we create a wetland buffer? We’d like to hear what you think. You can reach us at email@example.com and send comments directly to the team working on the General Plan at http://www.envisionburlingame.org/mail_forms.
